The Design And Implementation Of Mobile Terminal System Of Multimedia Conference Based On Symbian Operating System

With the development of economy and globalization of trade, cross-region communication becomes increasingly frequent. People need a quick and convenient communication way to meet the daily demands. Multimedia conference system supports that two or more individuals and organizations in different places share voice, video and documents through the transmission network and multimedia devices. Multimedia conference system makes it possible to communicate timely and conveniently. However, it is a pity that the existing conference terminals lack mobility.In this thesis, we have designed and implemented a Symbian-based multimedia conference terminal system on 3G mobile phone. The system consists of three function modules:conference information management, attending conference, setting and system help. Conference information management module provides the function of creating conference, viewing conference, editing conference, and deleting Conference; attending conference module supports users to attend video and voice conference, to apply speech, to end speech, to switch terminals as well as switch between the video conference and voice conference; the last module includes setting, help and about functions.We have also done the experiment of attending the multimedia conference with our multimedia conference terminal system on Nokia E 71. The experiment shows that we achieve the mobile terminal system of multimedia conference. User can enjoy the multimedia conference experience and convenience of mobility at the same time.
