With the globalization of the market economy, enterprises are faced with more varied market environment, and the ability of fast response plays a decisive role. Therefore, enterprises have a growing requirement of timely management. The mobile ERP system could satisfy the standard of mobile work anytime in any place. And it can also provide better flexibility for expanding businesses.In practical application, a smartphone is the usual terminal of the mobile ERP system. There are many kinds of operating systems for the mobile phones and the different operating systems with differnt functions have no unified standard. In order to incorporate the characteristics of different operating systems and get the optimum performance, it needs develop the customized version for each operating system. Howerver, there are few of these kinds of productions. Besides, existing mobile ERP systems can not strongly help the minor enterprise, owing to ignore their practical issues. So, it is very important to develop new mobile ERP systems for the minor enterprises.Take above factors into account, this dissertation employs Symbian C++ programming language to develop the mobile client, adopts the three-tier architecture based on Web Service technology, uses SQL Server as the background database, designs and implements of a novel mobile ERP system for minor enterprises based on Symbian operation system. Combining the business processes of the minor enterprises, this system includes different subsystems matched with the links in actual practice. Using mobile network as the carrier, it connects the client terminal to the background database via the Web Service server, and make users can achieve mobile working in the real time. The test result in the real smartphone demonstrates that this system has clear framework, exellent user interface, logical business flow, and smooth human-machine communication, as well as nice augmentability, transferability and maintainability. This mobile ERP system has abilities to become an effective tool of resource integration and mobile management for the minor enterprises.
