Influencing Factors For Quality Of Scientific Journals And Improvement Strategy

Scientific Journals are the main recording and dissemination carrier of scientificand technical information. Scientific journals provide not only the window for scienceand technology innovation of a country, but an important communication platform forscientists all over the world. China has numerous scientific journals; however, theirimpact factors are low, and the influence is weak, so China’s scientific journals cannotwell display or disseminate our scientific research fruits. The key to improve qualityof scientific journals is to improve the quality management level of scientific journals.In this paper, the quality influencing factors for scientific journals are analyzed. Andcombined the concept and method of total quality management (TQM) with thequality characteristics of scientific journals, the improvement strategies are proposedto improve the quality of scientific journals.Firstly, the basic concept of quality and TQM and the connotation andcharacteristics of scientific journals quality are expounded. Secondly, the influencingfactors of scientific journals quality are analyzed, the quality evaluation system ofscientific journals is designed, and the main influencing factors are found out throughthe design of questionnaire investigation and fuzzy comprehensive evaluation method.Thirdly, according to the concept of TQM, the quality improvement strategies areproposed to improve the quality management of scientific journals and the quality ofscientific journals. Finally, Transactions of Tianjin University (TTU) is taken forexample.
