With the rapid development of Web2.0 technology, human’s knowledge activities gradually shift from offline to online. Thus a variety of online knowledge community (OKC) and various forms of collective knowledge have been created. Clarifying the influencing factors of the results of collective knowledge evolution can help us to have a better understanding of user-dominant knowledge production and organization mode in the network information space of knowledge and to improve the quality of knowledge online. Thus it is very necessary to study on the influencing factors of the quality of collective knowledge. However, there are very few studies on the influencing factors of the quality of collective knowledge. And there are still problems, for example, due to the simplex theoretical view there is an insufficiency understanding about the cognitive and social features of collective knowledge building; There also lacks the combination of theory and practice as well as a complete and systematic theoretical basis; Also, present researches have not combine the process and principle of knowledge building; Besides, there lacks a longitudinal and dynamic way to study the influence rules of each influencing factors. To solve the above problems, this paper proposed a cognitive and interactive view innovatively, and then built a theoretical model of the influencing factors of the quality of OKC collective knowledge under such view. Also, we modeled with actural data obtained from OKC to carry on a longitudinal study. Specifically, we discussed in detail about the process of collaborative knowledge building on the basis of cognitive development and social influence network theory firstly. Then, taking the case of Wikipedia, we had a detailed discussion on cognitive based interaction among members happed during the process of collective knowledge building. And then we put forward a method to detect editorial interaction history and cognitive differences between members. On this basis, we found influencing factors of the quality of collective knowledge from the details of process of collective knowledge building and built a theory model of these influencing factors under the perspective of cognitive interaction. Then we chose articles belonging to different types of knowledge from Wikipedia as representative cases and built models with the real historical data. And to validate the assumptions proposed, we had a longitudinal and dynamical study on quantitative relationships between variables in our theory model and the quality of collective knowledge, and analyzed the cases horizontally at the same time. The results of our research show that:(1) for declarative knowledge and procedural knowledge, the current cycle team knowledge heterogeneity has significant positive influence on the current cycle collective knowledge quality, and accumulated collective knowledge quality of last cycle will positive influence on the current cycle team knowledge heterogeneity; (2) for declarative knowledge, the cognitive object modularity of team knowledge will significant positive moderate the relationship between heterogeneity and collective knowledge quality, but it’s not significant for procedural knowledge; (3) for declarative knowledge, talk strength plays a significant intermediary role between team heterogeneity and the collective knowledge quality, but not significant for procedural knowledge; (4) for declarative knowledge and procedural knowledge, collaborative interaction strength plays a significant intermediary role between team heterogeneity and the collective knowledge quality. Our paper creatively studied the influencing factors of collective knowledge quality from the details of cognitive interaction under a cognitive and interactive view, and adopted a research approach which combined longitudinal research with horizontal research. Conclusions obtained in this paper can not only enrich theories related to collective knowledge evolution and collaborative knowledge building, but also provide guidance for quality promotion activities of collective knowledge in OKC.
