With the development of digital signal processing (DSP) towards to the direction of the high power, long distance and high-speed, the CMOS sensor based on FPGA has developed rapidly. Furthermore, the requirement of its performance also has been showed more and more excellent in wide application.In the first, the theoretical foundation of CMOS and FPGA has been analyzed, such as their working principles, the basic structure, and the development of trend in the domestic and overseas. The CMOS has been showed there was a big preponderance in the realization of high speed data acquisition and transmission while CCD and CMOS are compared and analyzed. Then this paper also introduces the hardware circuit of system, displays the design scheme and procedures of FPGA software programs, and analyzes with how to drive the CMOS sensor by FPGA system. At last, the use of VHDL language to drive the sequential circuit hardware description under the FPGA hardware platform has been applied in this paper. In a laboratory environment for testing, after routing and simulation, the correctness of the drive signal has been verified.
