Computer vision is more and more used in various fields because ofits non-contact real-time visible automatic and intellectual.Accompany the developmentof the micro-electronic, such as the image sensor LUPA1300 designed byCypress Company which resolution and speed has achieved 1280 by 1024 and450fps,the performanceof CMOS image sensor is better and better and the senoris used more and more.Obviously, the traditional image acquisition system is notcapable. In this dissertation, it is designed a high speed real-time imageacquisitionbased on FPGAand USB.In this dissertation, it is introduced the application of the image acquisitionsystem and the status quo, compared the acquisition systems which are based onDSP, FPGA, ASIC, designed a system based on FPGA. In this system, all theperiphery interfaces and chip's logic control, compression arithmetic isaccomplished by FPGA.And the compressed data is sent to the PC through USB.And then, after analyzing the architecture of the image acquisition, theparticular of the system is discussed, including choosing image sensor, ADC andFPGA. The PCB of the image senor part and the power module has beenaccomplished. The power module ensured the image sensor can work. Then theFPGA is designed by using Verilog HDL to accomplish the driver image sensor,the module of image acquisition, controller of ADC, system timingsynchronization.At the end, because of the data from ADC is 10bit, it needs a module topretreatment. It brought forward and analyzed three kinds of arithmetic andaccomplished in FPGA.
