As the semiconductor and machining technology advances, the main differencesbetween CMOS and CCD image sensor in Pixel Size,SNR(Signal-to-NoiseRatio),Sensitivity, Dynamic Range and others key parameters have gradually narrowed. Moreover,CMOS image sensor has been used in wide field increasingly, such asIndustrial manufacture,Aerospace remote sensing,Astronomical observation andMillitray, just as a result of its low-power consumption, high integeration andfriendly-signal-output interface.Based on the Cypress’s high-speed CMOS image sensor LUPA1300-2, this thesispresents the development, the principles and device features of CMOS image sensor, andcompared it with CCD image sensors. Finally, analysis is focused on LUPA1300-2,and ahigh speed CMOS camera driver circuit and signal processing circuits are designed basedon this CMOS image sensor, a real time image processing algorithm is alsopresented. The camera’s control unit is based on FLASH FPGA APA600of ACTELCorporation, data buffers unit is based on IDT Corporation’s SuperSyncⅡTMhigh-speedFIFO,control communication is based on RS-232serial communication interface, datatransmission is based on LVDS(Low Voltage Differential Signaling) level. Four layersPCB is designed and the stable system supply voltage outputted by LDO(Low Dropoutredgulator) are allowing this system to achieve high integration and be characteristic ofstability, flexibility. At last, this thesis summarizes this imaging system, further the correspondingimprovements. The design of this system will be of certain reference value for thedevelopment of other similar high-speed CMOS digital imaging system.
