Due to the modular design, reliable structure, open architecture, efficient hot-plug technology, CPCI (Compact Peripheral Component Interconnect) system is used widely. But as a result of the high integration density, the correlation degree between modules inside the CPCI system is very high, faults of tiny components on a single module, or unstable operation of the system, can result in collapse of the whole system. Therefore, it has strong practical significance to research the state detection technology of CPCI system. With the practicality, on the basis of the state detection technology of computer, this dissertation researches the design and realization of CPCI system state detection module based on FPGA.Using Verilog HDL language to control operation of hardware, this dissertation realizes five kinds of function:1. POST (Power-on Self Test) codes acqusition module acquires POST codes transmitted to the CPCI data bus by the zero-slot computer in real-time when the card is on power, and displays the codes on the7-seg LED screen after decoding, reasons of faults can then be figured out easily and quickly in contrast to the POST codes list;2. Voltage measurement module controls a33/4-bit digital DMM chip to measure four analog voltages exported by the CPCI backplane in real-time;3. According to the theory of universal electronic counter, rotation speed measurement module uses period measuring method to measure the period of pulse signals exported by the IPC fan circuit, and then calculates the rotation speed of fan;4. Temperature measurement module controls a digital temperature sensor to measure environmental temperature inside the enclosure in real-time, and turns on the alarm light when exceeding the pre-set limit;5. UART transmitting module puts all the acqired system parameters into the data package of standard pattern, and then transmits the package to the host computer for data analysis and real-time monitoring.CPCI system state detection module designed by this dissertation conforms to the standard specification for dimensions of CPCI card; acqusition of POST codes meets the demands of error-free, omission-free, and real-time; results of measurement of voltage, temperature, and fan rotation speed are correct, and the actual outcomes can meet the demand of indicators, in addition, the module has merits of stable operation and low-cost.
