Passive radar works in a passive mode and it doesn't transmit radio wave,so it is easy to be hid and is a great threat to enemy.With the development of techniques, radar electronic war has promoted to a new stage.Passive radar system plays a more and more important role in military task and is concerned by most of the countries.Intermediate Frequency real time display is the key part of control display in passive radar system and the research on it has a great significance in project application.This paper combines the need of actual requirement and existing technology conditions,and brings forward a case of real time display system hardware realization for high capacity IF waveform display,which is passed by online testing. The system adapted FPGA as a CPU,200 MB/s IF data streams are received and processed by front module,then stored in large capacity DDR2 SDRAM.The rear part communicates with host by PCI bus and receives display control command,then processes waveform according to the command and transmits the processed video data to display module for displaying.The communication between this module and front interface module and rear display board is realized by CPCI bus,and the main function encloses real time display,pause,zoom,left and right move and the waveform scroll.This module has good real time ability for it depends on hardware and takes no CPU time of the host.This paper first introduces the main case of the system and talks about the design method for IF display module in detail from three parts including hardware design, FPGA logic design and software design.At last,the testing results are given in this paper.According to the results,we can conclude that the system has realized the main function of waveform display control and reach the anticipate goal with a value of practical application.
