B-ultrasonic detector is an accessorial medical diagnosis instrument which is based on ultrasonic conduction technology and ultrasonic image diagnosis technology; it is widely used for diagnosing of cardiopathy, digestive diseases, urology diseases and gynecology diseases, also an economical, useful, repeatable and scatheless examination instrument. The rapid development of the computer technology, especially the technology of image processing, facilitates the processing, analysis and diagnosis for B-ultrasonic detector image data. The interface of ultrasonic data is a high speed communication interface between the PC and B-ultrasonic detector, PC can reads data from the B-ultrasonic detector using this interface. Doctors can diagnose the patients from the display effectively. Furthermore, the PC may storage a lot of ultrasonic data, so the doctor can use them on tap, and the cost of medical treatment will reduce. This paper lucubrates the USB architecture, characteristic and the protocol of USB2.0, experimentalizes on the FX2 control chip CY7C68013 for long time, and labors the characteristic of Slave FIFO and the need of speedy communication for B-ultrasonic detector. The hardware of the interface and the firmware are designed in detail, the processing of how to design WDM driver and the application was explained in this paper also. Finally we test the performance of the interface with the simulation of B-ultrasonic detector data and obtain the testing result. The FX2 chip CY7C68013 is made by the Inc of Cypress, it has two interfaces to the peripheral equipments, one is GPIF (General Programmable Interface) mode mastered by FX2 and the other one is Slave FIFO mode. We used the Slave FIFO pattern in the interface design according the requirement for the communication between the PC and B-ultrasonic detector and the facility of the system design. The PC sets BULK mode to the working endpoint, transfers the ultrasonic image data in real-time. The transmission speed has achieved the USB2.0 high speed standard and satisfies the on-line diagnosis. The paper gives the insufficiency and the improving method of this project at last, and the expectation of USB technology.
