With the rapid development of urban construction, water environment of urban is becoming worse. Improvement and treatment of urban water environment has become a main problem that large and medium-size cities around the world are facing. Industrial wastewater that urban drainage network transports and domestic wastewater are the major source causing urban water environment pollution. So information and scientific management of drainage network is an important way to improve urban water environment. GIS technology in recent years has a widely application and development, so applying it into management of municipal drainage management is an inevitable trend.Aiming the problems and shortcomings existing in the drainage network management, closely combining business needs, this paper researched, designed and developed an integrated Kunming drainage network information platform. The platform applying GIS technology, spatial technology and computer network technology was designed to C/S and B/S mixed network architecture, containing five subsystems that are drainage WebGIS, spatial data resource management, drainage network analysis, sewage treatment plant data management and drainage web information release.The paper analyzes the business needs and data requirements of Kunming drainage network management department; describes function design and spatial database design; researches on the key technology used in the platform realization such as ArcGIS Server, Silverlight and ArcObjects; and gives several main results in the end as well as emphatically discusses the design and realization of flow tracking analysis of drainage network.Now the platform has been applied into Kunming drainage network management department. It realizes drainage network and sewage treatment visual management and spatial analysis, improves the management level and efficiency. Upon Dianchi Lake pollution control and urban water environment improvement, it can provide comprehensive, accurate basic spatial information of drainage network and decision support for operation and management departments.
