Geographic information system of the urban drainage network is an integrated information system, rely on GIS technology, on the basis of the establishment of the spatial attributes of the database of the pipe network, to manage spatial of drainage network and attribute information. Geographic information system of the urban drainage network is used in order to provide a strong scientific basis for decision making for the departments of drainage management, analysis of decision-making computer operations, improve efficiency, quality and level of drainage management. The establishment of the system is the needs of the development of urban drainage.In order to achieve reliable and efficient drainage network GIS system, as an important component of geographic information systems, geospatial database is part of the premise and foundation of other applications. On the basis of spatial data modeling, the spatial database reach the effective management of spatial data. Therefore, spatial data modeling and the design of spatial database are the keys to the entire GIS system. So far the drainage management department of kunming has not been set up the unity of the spatial database, restrict the drainage department of kunming information management level.Urban Planning Bureau of Pipeline Detection Office Organized a comprehensive Pipeline Detection In2008, Pipeline Authority Of Drainage Company completed the inspection and correction of the original probe data, finally finish the basis of data of the drainage network in Kunming. The data provided reliable data assurance and data base for the data construction of the drainage network of geographic information systems in Kunming.Therefore, the paper is based on drainage network detection data in Kunming, choosing advanced spatial data model and object-oriented modeling method, and completed the creation of the drainage network database. The paper first briefly introduce the spatial data model, which is the most widely used----concepts and features of the Geodatabase Data Model, and Object-oriented modeling techniques----the concept and advantages of the UML Unified Modeling Language and CASE tools. Based on all of this, the paper systematically describe how to use UML and CASE tools to create Geodatabase database, focus on analysis of the drainage network data, attributes, and hierarchical relationships, as well as the structure of the database, and then use the UML to design structure diagram of Geodatabase data model of the drainage network data. Finally, the paper completely display the entire design process of the database of Geodatabase by the UML and CASE tools through the icon, providing a good example and reference for drainage sector, gas sector, water sector, electricity sector in Kunming Province and other municipal services industry at all levels.
