The professional museum studies (museology) education and personnel training started from30s in the20th century in China and have more than80years history, and the professional museum studies education have got great achivements developed from nothing. The museology develops quickly at the time, but some problems like its research contents, theoretical methodology, disciplinary attribute and its relationship with relative disciplines could not reach a consensus till now, which led to all kinds of problems of the professional museum studies (museology) education and seriously affected the development of the discipline and the supply of the talents. The numbers of the colleges, the education level, the disciplines systematics, the training objectives and the curriculums of the professional museum studies (museology) education are different from some foreign countries whose museum studies (museology) education are developed. Now the discipline of museology belongs to the history in china and most of the museology departments operate within the history and archeology colleges or departments. The professional level of the teachers is not high and the professional curriculums can’t get the due attention and the curriculums have too many history and archeology lessons. The training objectives generally pay more attentions to the archeology skills and the knowledge of cultural relics rather than the practice of curatorship and managements, and the practice programs are so rare that the distinguishing features of museology are not prominent. The reason of this kind of difference resulted from that most Chinese museums are historical and the backwardness of the Chinese theoretical museology. The Chinese museology must stand on its own feet from history and the governments and museums and the colleges should carry out their own duties and make their own contribution to the development of the professional museum studies (museology) education of college in the future.
