Analysis On Chinese Museology Journals

Both the museum business and museology get rapid development since the founding of new China.The national policy guidance and museology development help the museum business develop,the theory of museum studies constantly improve in the practical work.However,as the bearing of theory and practice research,museology journals are developing with the former two obvious inconsistent phenomenon.At present,the number of museums has exceeded 5000,the number of museum employees has exceeded 100000,and the annual visits to museums have exceeded 1 billion.However,there are less than 10 official journals of museology and only one core journal.The development course and current situation of museology journal are worth studying,the problems presented by it need to be discussed,and its future development direction needs to be clarified According to the statistical scope,this paper made a statistical analysis of 32 journals,including “Chinese Museum” “Museum” “Museum Research”,according to founding time,journal type,the branch of museology,the quantities of journal and articles have been the overall upward trend.However,compared with archeology or history,there are some obviously problems such as small number,limited core and low citation rate;In terms of the content of the articles,the applied museology is far higher than the sum of the branches of others.According to the comparison between journals,the number of articles in “Chinese Museum” accounts for more than half of the total number,and the imbalance of development is obvious.In this paper,it is suggested to improve the ability of museology journals to run journals,enhance the academic status of museology journals,strengthen exchanges and cooperation,actively respond to the new situation of the development of museums,and promote the level of museology subjects to strive for better development of museology journals.
