With the rapid development of our Mobile Communication Industry, the scale and capacity of communication network is blowing up quickly. But GSM (Global System for Mobile Communications) network is always the main supporting body of voice and data. In terms of development of the GSM network, due to the long time of constructions, its restriction of efficiency becomes the bottleneck of the development. After several ways of traditional capacity expansion, GSM still can not satisfy our needs, so engineers make a suggestion as dual-band network.The appearance of the dual-band network plays an important part in increasing network capacity and remitting communication pressure. But several problems come to a significant work, for example, how to work out the optimization of dual-band network, the safety of operation, the offer of the good service quality.This article introduces the GSM, then researches and discusses the fundamental principles, Radio Parameter, propagation characteristic, hierarchical structure, network architecture, Optimal Process, of the double-frequency overlay network. Secondly, it researches Double-frequency overlay network in Southeast Guizhou KaiLi District. After the performance evaluation and detailed health inspection, we find out the problem and combine with practical situations and compare before and after the change of network optimization index. At last, we excavate the bottleneck in depth and put forward suggestions and opinions of network optimization and summarize the nets optimal experience forms into systems.
