The blocking problems of radio channels in GSM mobile communication system have badly restricted service expansion for mobile service provider due to the increasing subscriber number, the reducing network construction investments, and the advancing customers requirements for quality of service (QoS). The effect by use of single means to handle blocking problems of radio channels in GSM mobile communication systems is not in evidence under the actual communication environment. It is the corporate responsibility for mobile telecommunication services operators and telecommunication equipments provider to improve the mobile communication systems by means of adopting the combining technological strategies, and to evaluate the advantage of such combining technological strategies. It is an important study topic that, which has great economic benefit and is closely related to enterprises'development, how to utilize current network resources adequately to increase network capacity and enhance network quality.In this dissertation, the reasons of bringing the block in some radio channels, such as TCH and SDCCH, are analyzed in detail in order to obtain the effective methods for improving the performances of the blocked radio channels. Firstly, the radio waves diffusing and the mobile networks planning are present. Then, the engineering optimizing methods with the combination of adjusting antenna and configuring the cell parameter for handling the blocking problems in radio channels are roundly analyzed. The validity after adopting the Dual Frequency Network Structure adjusting technologies, the new half rate speech technologies, and the carrier poor technologies are also discussed in this dissertation. It analyzes the application of multi-technology by using examples. At last, it gives prospects for some new optimized net technology in the future. It describes the objective of radio network optimization and studies the work flow of radio network optimization, especially general network investigation, data search and data analysis. Then starting from technique of optimization, it introduces drop rate analysis, dual frequency network optimization, radio channels optimization research, hand-off performance optimization, frequency optimization, blocking problem optimization, overcast optimization, technology of micro-cell optimization, topology of network optimization, community logining performance optimization and the optimization of increasing DT switch rate. It concretely introduces the practical application and effect of above kinds of optimization technology through analyzing a practical optimization project case. Radio network optimization technology is a complicated applicable technique. With the continual expansion of network size and improvement of network performance, it demands new optimization technique to search much more data and information to develop new optimization room. Some optimization techniques, such as intellectualized optimization,great capacity test, resources using rate optimization, GPRS data business point to point optimization and optimization professional platform worthy of being studied further.
