With the rapid development of the national economy and the continuous improvement of people's living standard, the mobile communication technology and application in our country has developed by leaps and bounds. The wireless network resources encounter the problem of shortage on frequency resources inevitability with the application of the wireless terminals such as mobile phone, PDA, wireless internet access. So the layout to the wireless network frequency is particularly important.The layout to the wireless network frequency mainly analyzes the network operation, optimizes the frequency distribution of the network resources through planning the limited frequency resources and then reduces network interference level to enhance the overall performance of the network and guarantee the quality of the network operation. As for the GSM network, the frequency planning is an important staged work, because the wireless network is a dynamic network, the wireless environment is constantly changing, so the wireless network frequency has to be replaned when running for a period of time to adapt to the changes of wireless network operating environment.This paper takes the project of the whole network planning in Song Yuan mobile in 2008 as the platform, combining the wireless communications theory of the mobile communications, the air interface technology as well as GSM wireless network optimization technology. Finally, this paper analyzes and studies to deal with the problem of the shortage on the frequency resource and the problem of constantly optimizing the adjusting the frequency planning basing on existing resources.In this paper, the major GSM frequency planning processes in Songyuan are as follows:1.First of all, the entire optimization processes need to generate a virtual area to collect the same frequency interference matrix in adjacent cells,the entire processes are as follows: First,the process sets up a virtual adjacent areas relationship for each cell in current network. In this process,it extracts MR report which is related to BSC from OMCR when changing frequency everyday, finally, MR report will be summarized in order to generate a complete same frequency interference matrix in adjacent cells.2. Then, imports the same frequency interference matrix to GSM Forte frequency planning software of Megavista Telecom Ltd, and the software is based on "genetic algorithm" by several iterations, when the value of the performance of the frequency optimization program Convergences to meet the design requirements, the iterative process is over, and at this time we get the preliminary optimization of the program.3. Next, we optimize the program by fine-tuning the initial program. Because this program is generated by the algorithm, so it requires that we adjust to these problems according to the actual situation, this process need to continue through the implementation of the outcome of the test and analysis to discover new problems.Through the research and application of this project, we can get the following conclusions:1. The theoretical study and analysis of GSM networks has played an important role in optimizing the specific practice. Through the analysis of the reasons for wireless network optimization, it can play the role of clear guidance to specific optimizing work, and provide a complete theoretical basis to the final realization of the project.2. The realization on the project of GSM wireless network optimization has promoted the theory analysis. The theory can guide the practice. On the contrary, the realization on the project of Song Yuan mobile GSM wireless network optimization does a test to the theory of the paper, promotes the development of the theory. The practice can examine the shortage on the theoretical analysis, and promotes the improvement on the theoretical method.3. Songyuan mobile GSM network is an continuous expansion and continuous improvement wireless network, this paper gives the suggestion on the latter network changes and the planning proposals to do some thing to the future optimization.
