A Research On Strategic Development Of Fujian Quality And Technology Supervising Magazine

Nowadays, Sci-Tech journals contribute itself as a significant component in institutionalizing science and technology development, it is a scientific media platform extended after academic research, an important symbol to demonstrate a level of national science and technology, also an important indicator of comprehensive national power. In recent years, with rapid development of socialist market economy, most public institutions cannot handle well under the impact of the market economy. As a result, they become a weak spot of popular science.This paper is presented as a case study on Fujian Quality and Technology Supervising Magazine, which I analyze thoroughly the major limited factors on development of national Sci-Tech journal during transition and the crucial bottlenecks restraining from structural reform. Meanwhile, I illustrated existing major problems on market-based reform of Fujian Quality and Technology Supervising Magazine, incorporated with actual experience from my position. Moreover, I had done a comprehensive research on the internal and external strategic conditions of periodical press (including its macro environment, business competition and potential weakness), and make a strategic move by using strategic management tool and SWOT analysis method based on the dialectical analysis of the advantage and existing difficulties within periodical press. Above all, an overall strategy in five years was drew up for the periodical press, to implement the whole plan in three sequent stages, I proposed sub-objects during each period on the basis of the overall strategy. In order to adapt Fujian’s Quality and Technology Supervising Magazine to market-based reformation, I recommended six major plans for further implementation. There is prospective future that the periodical press will eventually improve service level for public and enhance market competitiveness.This research will be of practical significance to help periodical press to overcome current development dilemma and perform well in severe market competition and ensure a win-win situation between academy and economic benefits. It will also better serve academic researchers and promote Fujian provincial quality supervising development.
