Wireless sensor network technology is a new type of network technology, which appearsafter the sensor technology, the communication technology and the embedded technology.Wireless Sensor Network is composed of many micro sensor nodes, these nodes can cooperate toperceive, monitor, collect and process the environment information of the network distributionarea. Wireless sensor networks can be deployed in the places, where human are not easy tomonitor, relative to the cable network it has incomparable advantages. Wireless sensor networkis called one of the more important technologies in the 21st century, the appearance of it hasattracted people’s widespread attention. In this thesis, I designed and realized an energymonitoring system based on ZigBee, ZigBee is a new kind of short-range wirelesscommunication technology, which compared to other GPS/GSM, Bluetooth, Wifi wirelessnetwork technology , has reliable , low power consumption , low cost and high fault toleranceand other advantages. ZigBee technology is more suitable to the wireless sensor network’smonitor and control.This topic choose from the topics of the national natural science fund project“Research onlow energy consumption data acquisition method based on time sequence of the correlation inwireless sensor networks”. The energy consumption monitoring system, which is based onZigBee, is the project’s basic components. It mainly includes three parts: Energy consumptiondetection guardian program, which runs on the sensor node. The energy consumption program,which runs on the gateway nodes. The master control program, which runs on main control PCmanager. Energy consumption detection guardian program is in the bottom of this system, designand realize a ZigBee network node, which can monitor network energy consumption based onCC2530 and MSP430, this program is mainly responsible for monitoring of sensor node energyconsumption. Energy consumption program is in the middle of this program, it is responsiblefor the collection and transmission of node energy consumption data,this program is running ongateways nodes with the workbench of Android,Android platform is an intelligent open sourceplatform, and through this platform it can easily finish the data storage and transmission work;The control program in the main control PC is located in the top of the system, the constructionof the three layers monitoring network begins from here, the master control program cansynchronize the whole network of energy consumption data, also can analysis and process the data.Based on the above contents, the detailed design and codes has been done, The propose ofthis three layers energy consumption network undoubtedly creates a new idea to future researchon energy consumption of wireless sensor networks.
