With the advent of the knowledge economy era, the transmission and retrieve of information take a crucial and irreplaceable role at social development, economic growth and life quality improvement. Consequently, the retrieve of concerned information at anytime, anywhere and anyhow has been paid great attention to by every industry. Due to the lack of scientific technology in the past, people can only go to a fixed occasion to get the information passively, which is not suitable for the fast-paced modern society and becomes a bottleneck restricting social development and improvement of people’s life quality. It can be predicted that retrieve information via portable mobile device and implementing a rapid and effective control is bound to become a research hotspot. Therefore, this subject has significant research value and pleasant prospect, which can promote the corresponding technologies and create huge economic benefits.This paper researches the monitoring system, which is based on ZigBee wireless personal area network and Android platforms. ZigBee specification based on IEEE802.15.4protocol is used to build a stable, reliable, robust, low-power, self-organizing information and communication network. The Android intelligent platform, which is based on Linux kernel, is used to build a simple, quick response, user-friendly information display and control system. This project is of heavy workload and need to study a number of core technology solutions. The first is the effective information acquisition and reliable transport. The second is the display of information in a portable mobile terminal machine. The information transmission is bi-directional, which includes the data information passed up and command information passed down. The display of information on portable end device involves the design of graphical user interfaces and interactive processing of complex data.The mobile surveillance system is divided into two subsystems. One is information collection and transmission subsystem, the other is information processing and control subsystem. The information collection and transmission subsystem takes ZigBee specification as the communication protocol. The latest CC2530is used to design the hardware part and the OSAL operating system is used to develop the software counterpart. The Information processing and control subsystem is mainly used to show the information of the monitored locations, and forward the user command to the first subsystem. This subsystem uses the S3C6410SOC based on ARM11to design the hardware. The corresponding software takes advantage of the Android platform based on Linux Kernel.
