Nowadays, with the rapid development of embedded technology, people’s requirement for mobile intelligent terminal becomes higher and higher. Smart phones are equipped with a great many application programs with powerful functions and rich interfaces. However, the prosperity of these applications brings the problems that the electricity can last shorter and shorter without meeting customer’s daily needs. As Android smartphones heretofore has the largest users, this problem appears to be particularly urgent. Battery’s further development is influenced by its physical process, therefore, simply improve it’s service life can not meet the requirement of the mobile intelligent terminal equipment towards electricity. Consequently, we should put software’s influence to the power consumption of mobile intelligent terminal into consideration. Now, however, most of the popular applications on the market are not equipped with appropriate low power processing. It is mainly because none of the tools under conditions of low system energy consumption can measure application’s energy consumption online, let alone accurately analyses the portion of hardware components which consume electric energy.For above reasons, this paper will put emphasis on hardware components of smart phone and based on it put forward the component-based model at run time to estimate the energy consumption of the applications. The main content is as follows:1. Make a analysis and summary of intelligent mobile terminal’s status quo of development and study at home and abroad. Especially for Android smartphone, the study gives a analysis of the problems which exist in the energy consumption of its’mobile terminal, also elaborate the importance of energy estimation towards reduction of energy consumption.2. This paper will start with the hardware structure of smartphone, make a in-depth study of the production and distribution of smartphone and put emphasis on the components which have more influence on consumption of smartphone.3. For some components which have relatively large impact on Android smartphone, based on the real machine, this paper has a study of working mechanism of them as well as their power consumption in different working conditions and also establishe the component power consumption model for every hardware component.4. As the hardware components energy consumption model have the disadvantages of taking too much time estimating and consuming a lot energy of its own, this paper puts forward the energy consumption model based on components running time. The model is made on the basis of hardware components energy consumption model. The components have been divided into dynamic and static one. The dynamic component’s acquisition of energy depends on the average power consumption while the static component acquires energy by hardware components. Meanwhile, the author establishes the energy consumption model on the experimental prototype machine by using components running time energy consumption model.5. This paper have a energy consumption evaluation for four common applications respectively by using two different kinds of energy consumption estimation model on Android4.1operating system of smartphone. The experimental results tell us that under the same condition, the energy consumption model based on component running time is significantly superior to that based on hardware components in measuring application performance.
