This paper takes universities of Taiwan as the research object, with its general curriculum design of media literacy education for the study content. Based on the previous analysis in this field, the author designed theoretical analysis framework. According to the framework, this research will analyze curriculum design of media literacy from three views, which are the macro level, medium level and micro level.The macroscopic level is mainly aimed at the discussion on the development of media literacy education course of Taiwan in a historical angle. Learn what did the government, the social organizations and the academic communities do on the way of the development and how the media literacy education reflected these fields. The medium level is gave priority to discuss five elements of general curriculum design of media literacy education. Which are curriculum aims, curriculum content, curriculum positioning, curriculum implementation and course evaluation. Microscopic part will talk about the result of two questionnaire surveys, one is about the Shih Hsin university, the other is did in the National Chengchi University. Besides, this part will also contend the classroom observation as a supplement.The reference value of general curriculum design of media literacy education practiced in Taiwan were analyzed and summarized in the last.1. In the macro level academic and private groups pushed the evolution powerfully at the early stage, but on the other hand the Taiwan educational authorities and the leaderships of college’s short support on media literacy education delayed the implementation.2.The medium level will see with three aspects. The first one is the course design concept which is defined as "teachers and students study together", this is correspond to the media education teaching philosophy; the second one is people made practicing as the guidance of the course design, making cognition into action; the last one is learning support resources constructed the classroom learning into practical knowledge.As a basic model study, this paper not only summarized different experience,but also paid attention to the background analysis.The study used many researching methods such as literature study, content analysis case study, questionnaire investigation, interview, observation etc.
