The Comparative Research On The Media Literacy Education In The University Students Of Mainland And Taiwan

Media literacy is the basic quality that each citizen should acquire at the informationalized society. Especially for college students who are going to be the backbone of society. Having the higher media literacy is not only related to the improvement of college students’personal qualities, but also concerns the improvement of overall Chinese public’s quality and the development of the society. Taiwan started the media literacy education earlier than mainland of China and holds the leader position in theoretical research and practical teaching. In mainland China, college students’media literacy education is still stay at the initial stage, which needs extensive concern and support from all circles of the society.Therefore, this study based on the perspective of cross-regional comparison, analyzed the practical situation and the course setting of college students’media literacy education on both sides of Taiwan and mainland China. By using the empirical research method, author did survey for the media literacy status of the college students’in both sides. Depend on the objective presentation of the above two parts content, author found the weaknesses which exist in current mainland China’s media literacy education are as follows:the society didn’t pay enough attention and support to student’s media literacy education college education experience is insufficient, and current college students are lacking of media literacy.Combined the research results with the practical situations of Taiwan and mainland China, author pointed out specific ideas based on the following principle that college, society and the government are the leader of college students’media literacy development.The mainly research methods included in this study:literature research, questionnaire survey method, comparative method, interview method, etc.
