Research On Performance Evaluation Of Library’s Information Management Information System In Universities

With the increasing influence of the application of information technology on the operation of university libraries, the information management system has become the major issue of the management of university libraries. The performance evaluation of information management system of university libraries is an important link to promote the information process of a university library. It is also instructive for the information construction on libraries.The paper first makes an introduction to the background of the study and relevant theories. Then it combines the special features of information management system, setting up a model of performance evaluation to come up with principles of establishing information management system of university libraries. Besides, the paper explores the practicing process of the performance evaluation of the information management system of the university’s library:gathering experts to make assessment, targeting the subjects to be evaluated; establishing evaluation standard system;collecting related data to be processed;calculating the final results and making analysis. Finally, the paper has made a case study on how the established system works on the performance evaluation of library’s information management system in Y University’s library. This paper throws some light on the practice of performance evaluation of information management system in university libraries.
