The Six Sigma Approach In The Study Of The Application Of The Quantitative Management Of Software Enterprise

Now days, the rapid development of domestic software industry-promotes the request of quantitative management. The software enterprises build processes by following models or methodologies. The models or methodologies include PMBOK, RUP, ISO, CMMI and Agile etc. Based on the standard process, software enterprises establish measurement system to collect and analyze product and process performance data. Then they want to utilize the data to control their development activities to meet the business goals and environments constrains. They also want to use the data to predict the delivery performance of software products to minimize the risk and raise the delivery quality and productivity.Six sigma started in manufacture as quality managements, and developed into a process management methodology. Also six sigma can be applied in services industry. For the software enterprises who have challenges in developing their measurement and analysis abilities, six sigma has great values. The article raised the method of applying six-sigma to quantitatively manage the software development. The article not only deliverd an approach of how six sigma method be applied in software enterprises, also illustrate the usage and results by examples with lots data analisys. It is valuable for the software companies who want to establish and improve their quantitative management system to seek the great benefit from their measurements.
