As one kind of ship radio navigation equipment, marine navigation radar has developedfrom the traditional analog radar to today’s digital one. It has become necessary equipmentin collision avoidance, ship positioning, and entering or leaving ports pilot. As one of themost important parts of the marine navigation radar system, display and control terminalundertakes radar working state control, radar data processing, radar images display andother tasks. With the development of electronic technology and embedded technology,marine navigation radar also ushers in a new opportunity for development. Display andcontrol terminal of marine navigation radar, which is developed with embedded technology,can’t only reduce system cost and volume, enhance system reliability and flexibility, butalso improve overall system performance. At the same time, the system designed by FieldProgrammable Gate Array (FPGA) has good advantages in compatibility and scalability,easy to maintain and upgrade.On the basis of the development trend and background of the domestic andinternational radar display and control terminal, this paper designs and realizes one kind ofmarine navigation radar display and control terminal system, which is based on theembedded OMAP3530processor and programmable logic device FPGA. This paper mainlystudies the overall design of the display and control terminal, and the hardware modules andsoftware components to meet the functional requirements. First of all, this thesis discussesand analyzes the working principle of the marine navigation radar, and studies pulseaccumulation and CFAR detection technologies. On this basis, the system requirements andthe overall structural design scheme of the marine navigation display and control terminalare proposed. Then, this paper completes the CPU module, FPGA module and radarinterface module of display and control terminal, and builds the hardware platform of entiresystem. And some items that should be noted in the PCB’s placement and routing are given.Finally, the Linux operation system and related drivers are transplanted on the hardwareplatform. This design can provide a good software and hardware environment for therunning of the display and control terminal application software.The debugging results show that the Linux operating system and radar applicationssoftware can run correctly in this system. Radar images can be displayed through the DVIand VGA interface. This display and control terminal possesses low power dissipation and convenient installation. The system has higher applicable values in practice.
