Radar display and control terminal is an important part of a radar system. It’s an interactive platform between the operator and radar systems. The terminal can control the radar accurately. And at the same time, it can process datas from radar effectively and display the targets to the operator with visual and effective mode. This paper focuses on researching and designing of the radar terminal based on embedded system. The radar terminal adopts present advanced embedded system technique. It’s important for improving the performance of the portable battlefield reconnaissance radar.Firstly, the paper proposes the design of hardware and software system after the comprehensive analysis of radar terminal.Then, choosing Samsung Exynos4412processor as the core component of embedded systems, and the hardware platform is build based on it. In this paper, embedded Linux is selected as the operation system according to the requirements for real-time systems. The software platform constructing is based on the mode of host and target. As an important part of the system design, display and control terminal software is in a modular design. It includes:the development of human-machine interface based on Qt/Embedded; completing the radar parameter setting module; showing the radar targets in real time by the coordinate transformation; completing the communication module based on the design of multi-threading technology. Finally, after several tests for each module and system debugging, display and control terminal fully verify the correctness of the system design.
