Navigation is meaningful to awareness, development, utilization, etc of ocean, at the same time safety of navigation is the most concern thing. When sailing, every vessel shall maintain a proper look-out means appropriate in the prevailing circumstances and conditions so as to make a full appraisal of the situation and of the risk of collision. The adopting of marine radar to evaluate the situation is an important mean to promote a proper look-out. How to avoid collision is very important to navigation in which marine navigation radar play a vital role. The radar installed on board used for avoiding collision, position fixing and narrow channel piloting is marine navigational radar which is also called ships radar.24-hour and less affect by weather, marine navigation radar can provide awareness of marine condition round the ship to seafarers. Also it can provide the seafarers with available observation method when the visibility is not so good and methodically basis for determining in an emergency. The appearance of marine navigation radar is a milestone of navigation technology development.Through the calculation of processing radar echo data we can get the distance and direction information of the detecting object and with the information the route of object can be deduced. Seafarers can make use of the route of subject, so how to well process radar echo data for later standard displaying and graphic processing is worthy further research. Along with the widely use of marine navigation radar the technology of processing radar echo data became rather mature. More spaces for development of radar echo data real-time processing would be expected based on the rapid development of embedded system, digital sign processor and image coding processing technology. High-speed digital sign processor makes is possible to real-time process radar echo data and takes great convenience for later radar graphic visualization and processing. Combination of initial radar echo data processing and rapid development embedded system extends the space of marine radar echo data processing and brings more new tasks.The topic of this paper is to provide an open embedded multi-media platform by transplanting Linux operation system to OMAP3530-Mini board and process the echo as follows:1. Echo data is stored in prescribed format while the storage sequence is complied with the scanning mode of polar coordinate system;2. Inversion calculation is performed with the above stored data, and gets target distance and azimuth calculation model;3. Coordinate transition of the stored data provides display terminal system with right angle coordinate data, with which the radar image can be generated.This article adopts embedded multi-media platform with introducing high-performance image processing chip to embedded radar system, develop and realize data visualization display, which has very good application prospects, also provides preconditions for radar terminal display system.
