As the progress of the times and the development of technology, the newspaper industry iscontinually facing with the pressure of the media transformation and upgrading. How does theParty newspaper succeed in the market competition and how does the traditional media resist thevibrancy of the new media? These have always been the issues thought by both media industryand academic circles.This paper takes the column "Nanfang Investigation" of Nanfang Daily as the studytemplates to research the reform path of party newspapers under the context of thetransformation of Chinese society and traditional media. With the consideration of the operatingconcept of Journalism Professionalism and natural mission of supervision by public opinion forparty newspaper, the paper starts from the media ecoenvironment of the research objective,systematically reviewing the significance, methods and problems for party newspapers to carryout investigative reports in the new era, which will provide some available reference materialsand perspectives for both academic circles and the media.This paper is divided into five chapters.Chaper I Introduction:This chapter mainly sorts out the related theories through the review of the developinghistory of investigative reports. It takes the "Nanfang Investigation" as the example to illustratethe necessity and significance of the investigative reports in the party newspaper. Besides, thissection briefly introduces the research object, methods, ideas, the focuses and difficulties of thestudy, and gives necessary instructions of the research sample and statistical elementsChapter II Features of the "Nanfang Investigation":With the content analysis method, this section systematically analyses the column "NanfangInvestigation" to distill its features, namely the "the investigative reports" with the uniquecharacters of the party newspaper.Chapter III Success factors of the "Nanfang Investigation"Chapter IV, Significance of the "Nanfang Investigation":Through the analysis of the the macro environment and its own factors of the "Nanfang Investigation", these sections answer the questions like why this column is made successfully,how the party newspaper compete with other media, how the traditional media compete with thenew media. The answers are that we should make full use of our own advantages and the weaponof the "Investigating report", meanwhil, we also should improve our own competitiveness bystrengthening the reporting plans, advancing the interaction and the talent training etc.Chapter V, The problems and improvement of the "Nanfang Investigation"Through considering the concept of Journalistic Professionalism, the Planning Theory, andthe Editing Theory, this section mainly summarizes the problems of the "NanfangInvestigation" and proposes some solutions.
