Nowadays, the majority of universities have learned the enterprise to carry out performance management, and performance appraisal plays an important role in performance management, the result of which can visually reflect the comprehensive ability of teachers. But, compared to developed countries, the time of implementing performance appraisal in China is not long, and there are many problems in the process of practice.These years, more and more scholars have the research of performance appraisal. Among the research, we can find that many of them have conducted a lot of research in terms of purpose, methods and problems, which makes a great contribution. At the same time, we also find that the majority of the research only highlights the summary the evidence of teachers in the past, but ignores the future. Besides, most of the research emphasis on theory, but do not attach importance to the practice.This thesis is based on the definition such as the concept and content of performance appraisal of teachers. Besides, this thesis analyzes the history and enlightenment of the performance appraisal in university at home and abroad, in order to provide a reference for questing the suitable ways. Through the analysis, I believe that the Balanced Score Card is not only applicable in enterprise, but also in universities. Therefore, this thesis describes the background and the basic principles of the Balanced Score Card, and it takes GL University for example, converting the four dimensions of the Balanced Score Card. Besides, this thesis defines the raters and assessment score, questing a suitable ways. In addition, this thesis also proposes some measures, such as:the support of College leadership, establishing and improving the assessment institutions, having detailed training, and so on, which ensure the new system implementing smoothly.
