Oral health is an important part of the human health, good oral hygiene, a sound oral function and oral diseases. The most important of which was undoubtedly improve oral function, has a sound teeth is to achieve this goal must be conditions. A variety of reasons, however, are likely to lead to defect, such as severe dental caries, periodontal disease, tooth trauma, congenital lack of the dentition defect became oral diseases common disease. In this study, the university students of Shandong University, using a cluster sampling method, the sample survey of1.312college students. Aimed at understanding the dentition defect and repair of college students to explore college students oral health education measures and methods.Objective:To study the prevalence and distribution of tooth loss and prosthetic status among1312students in Shandong University.To evaluate the Oral health status of the students in Shandong University and to provide the basis for the guidance of College Students’ oral health.Methods:In this study, using cluster sampling method, the class as a unit, in2009-2012Shandong University undergraduate classes,30classes were randomly selected.To investigate the selected class all students,the total sample of college students of1325, the actual investigating1312.The investigating, including the questionnaire and oral examination. In the1312subjects,691boys,63dentition defect, the incidence rate of9.12%, fix the number of19, the repair rate of30.16%.621girls,82of dentition defect, the incidence rate of13.20%, and fix the number of34, the repair rate of41.46%.Statistical analysis showed that the incidence of dentition defect exist significant gender differences in girls than boysχ2=5.56; P<0.05). Repair rate difference was not statistically significantχ2=1.96; P>0.05).2.
