Ethylene is one of the main products of petrochemical industry, production of ethylene leukotriene (ethylene, propylene, butadiene) and BTX (benzene, toluene, xylene) is the basic material for the petrochemical industry, petrochemical ethylene as the leading device, the energy consumption level is a measure of a country's level of development of petrochemical industry an important symbol.With the national energy saving policy of gradually advancing and deepening, the domestic petrochemical enterprises are facing more and more severe competition and challenge. As China western the biggest oil refining chemical enterprise, in recent years, Lanzhou Petrochemical relying on technological innovation, strengthen energy conservation management, the energy conservation work has made considerable progress, but compared with the international advanced level, a large gap still exists. In the petroleum chemical industry, energy consumption of ethylene plant is one of the main device. According to the 2007 Lanzhou Petrochemical Company power production data statistics, energy consumption of ethylene plant of the entire company 22.49% of the total energy consumption, the energy saving in ethylene plant of the company total energy consumption decline has important significance。The energy conservation work includes not only technical improvement, energy management is a very important content. Through technology improvement can achieve the purpose of energy saving, in a certain period of time so that the energy consumption decreased significantly. However, with the extension of time and the changes in technology, energy-saving results are often difficult to maintain. Based on years of experience in energy saving, 6-12 months later, energy consumption will increase. In order to maintain energy saving results, need to develop and Practice on energy management system ( EMS ), in order to solve daily operation efficiency and energy saving effect of preserving problems。EMS is a structured management process combined with a system monitoring tool, real-time data with device connected to the system, through the operation of the error corrected, continue to reduce plant energy costs. EMS is the core of KPI (Key Performance Indication) evaluation system, KPI that key performance indicators, through the production unit within the production process of energy-using equipment, input, output, the key parameters set, sampling, calculation, analysis, used to measure the efficiency of a target type, to quantify the energy management indicators. Comprehensive historical operational data, database data and the evaluation of the theoretical calculation of energy consumption data, at different levels to control the KPI targets set as the target value of each level. Comparison between target and actual values of the gap, to quantify the energy loss, the formation of the report or alarm reminder of managers, engineers and operators for processing. Each KPI has a key associated factors, through the different levels of KPI tracking can identify key areas of energy loss caused by key factors can be analyzed to track the formation of the reason.
