Business process modeling is an important constituent part of Business Process Management. And business process modeling technology become an important develop technology for information system development. Meanwhile, with SOA architecture widely used in information system development, the key factors of developing information system efficiently become that how modeling and optimizing business process effectively with service-oriented method and how make the process models support process execution directly. However, there is a problem that lack of process semantics such as business rule in transformation from business process modeling to business process execution. At the same time, the impact of process semantics is also ignored during the business process optimization. These problems become the main problem during business process modeling and optimization at present.To solve the existing problems in business process modeling technology, a rule merged multi-view business process modeling and simulation optimization framework has been proposed in this paper. Firstly, through service-oriented enterprise resource meta-model the semantics of basic elements in process model are modeled. Then business rules are modeled on the basis of resource models. Finally the business rules are integrated with business process modeling to maintain the semantics of process model completely. On the basis of research on modeling method, an activity centric process simulation models have been proposed in the paper. Furthermore, a rule based business process optimizing method is proposed for business process simulation optimization. The main research work is as follows:(1) Through researching the current mainline execution oriented business process languages, the paper has recognized the necessary enterprise resource models in business process modeling. At the same time, these enterprise resource models are classified and relations have been made among different model categories. Then, researching different kinds of business rules and set up business rule models cooperating with enterprise resource models.(2) With using enterprise resource models as basic modeling elements, a modeling method named REPC (Rule-Merged Event-driven Process Chain) has been proposed for business process modeling. Furthermore, integration patterns of business rule model and business process model have been analyzed.(3) An activity centric business process simulation model has been researched. At the same time, the data collecting and analyzing method and rule based business process optimization method have been proposed.(4) A business process modeling and simulation optimization system has been built based on Eclipse plug-in project and Jess engine. With modeling and simulation executing a purchase process example, the feasibility and validity of the rule merged multi-view business process modeling and simulation optimization framework have been verified.The implementation of the prototype and verification results show that the framework provides a new business process modeling method for the development of the SOA based information system. And the research work of the paper has some reference value and application prospect.
