Resource on signal-oriented test resource mapping techonology is crucial in the resource manage level of Automatic Test System(ATS) software architecture. Applying signal-oriented test resource description forms important part of realization of irrelativeness of test process and instrument, which has important significance in generalization and open service of ATS and transportability of Test Program Set.This paper describes basic architechure of signal-oriented ATS. IEEE 1671 Automatic Test Makup Language(ATML) is used and IEEE 1641 Signal and Test Description(STD) is quoted to realize description of signal-oriented testing resources in the core part of resource management level in the software architecture. In addition, this paper implement solutions based IVI instrument driver which generates instrument description file automatically.This paper overviews the main functions of the manage level of test resources and makes further ananlysis in the functions and detailed research in the components of software frame based on the research of Signal-oriented automated test system software architecture. Object-orientd thinking and UML representation are used to design the outline of each component modules. Components of virtual resources mapping, physical resources mapping and test channel routing are implemented after detailed analysis of mapping process, which compose the core of resources mapping mechanism.The software developement is completed, which has been tested in the interface, function and performance in accordance with the use cases. Software and hardware platforms are builded to verify the effect of mapping and scheduling coverage. As well this paper aquires statistics data to summary the effects of mapping from experiments which are designed considering the scale and complexity of test items.The testing and validation experiments shows that: This design of the mapping, the ATS resouce modeling and scheduling strategies satisfies the demand of signal-oriented Automatic Test System for test program development software and better achieves the TPS transportability.
