Currently, the automatic test system (ATS) plays a key role in the fields of aviation, aerospace, defense, transportation, energy and other important areas. The development of ATS is towards to universal, standardization, networking and intelligent directions. This paper is based on the project of"Virtual Instrument Test Environment". The application of the ATS based on Signal-Oriented is researched in this paper.First, the development of ATS and virtual instrument in the application of the automatic test system was introduced. Then the standard set of ABBET (A Broad Based Environment for Test) applied in the area of ATS was also introduced. The software architecture based on Signal-Oriented was presented. And the function & interface for every logic layer was also defined.The realization based on the standard signal classifies, with database mapping the real resource and virtual resource was also elaborated in this paper. For the application in parallel heterogeneous Wide Area Network, a priority of the task scheduling algorithm was researched in this article. It was shown that the algorithm has a better scheduling efficiency.Based on the platform of the existing ATS, the resource management module was packaged, and the application of the signal-oriented technology was also proposed. The result indicated that the resource management module could incarnate the Signal-Oriented technology unrelated with instrument.Finally, the paper gives a conclusion of the work and some suggestions for the future research.
