In modern society, with rapid development of the economy and scientific technology, information can be gained and transferred more and more conveniently. The whole world is experiencing a deep revolution, media is acting a more and more important role in life. In the ocean of media information, the way how to meet, recognize, choose, use, interact with and manufacture media information is turning into people's necessary literacy-media literacy. The research about media literacy has been carrying on for several years abroad, especially in western countries, however the flat phase is domestic situation. Private colleges' students are the special elements of Chinese undergraduates. The media literacy education on them shows the realistic significance:improving media literacy of undergraduates in private colleges will promote the whole colonies' literacy, with the promotion, private higher education will develop in a health way.This article not only summarizes the necessity of media literacy for the private colleges' students, but also by questionnaire surveys, analyze the situation of private college's media literacy education in jiangsu province in four aspects:the possession and consumption of media, the ability of choosing and using media, the ability of criticizing and understanding media, the ability of expressing media and consummating self. Based on these, this article analyze the demand of private colleges' students about media literacy, exerting Bloom's Taxonomy of educational objectives and the theory of integrating internal and external cause, offer the methods of private colleges' media literacy education: cultivating the ability of recognizing, the ability of criticizing and understanding, the ability of operating and expressing, constructing the media atmosphere with media resources. It will be hoped to devote some basic perspectives for the research of Chinese private colleges' media literacy education.
