TD-SCDMA as a 3G mobile communication system, one of the mainstream standards, is made in China and approved by the International Telecommunication Union (ITU), subject to national attention and support. With the expansion of coverage area, the increase of the number of users and the network capacity, the TD-SCDMA wireless network planning has been playing a key role in the process of TD-SCDMA construction.TD-SCDMA wireless network planning is a process which designs the layout of the wireless network reasonably and practicably, with minimum investment to meet current needs and to ensure that the network is easy for future expansion. The planning is based on coverage requirements, capacity requirements and other special needs, combined with coverage area of the landscape features. This paper focuses on the wireless network planning of TD-SCDMA, including coverage planning, capacity planning and network simulation. The paper consists of six chapters. Chapter 3 introduces propagation model, link budget methodology to solve the key issues in coverage planning. In order to accurately assess its ability of supporting data services, in Chapter 4, business model analysis and wireless capacity analysis are discussed. Finally, Chapter 5 introduces Monte Carlo simulation method commonly used in 3G networks planning. Research paper for the guidance of TD-SCDMA network planning is important.
