With the rapid increase of mobile phone user numbers and requirement of multi-service, various countries are developing the third generation broadband digital mobile communication system. The mobile communication system has oriented the direction of high capacity, excellent services and multi-service. TD-SCDMA put forward by China is one of three standards of Third Generation Mobile Communication System and has not been used in commercial field widely since it is different from other 3G standards which have an integrated way for network planning. Therefore, the research on the TD-SCDMA network planning and the effect of introducing HSDPA (High Speed Downlink Packages Access) has significance for project practice and network optimizing. This thesis aims at TD-SCDMA network planning characteristic, analyzes its pivotal technologies, make a research in coverage and capacity angle while discussing the effect of introducing HSDPA. This thesis focuses on the design of static systemic simulation of TD-SCDMA by Matlab, analysis the coverage and capacity of TD-SCDMA based on the net model. The work is mainly about: firstly, the important technologies relative with network planning, the characteristic of technology of High Speed Downlink Packages Access are introduced, Secondly, the difference between WCDMA and TD-SCDMA in the angle of coverage and capacities while the effect of introducing HSDPA has been discussed, Thirdly, the design of TD-SCDMA static systemic simulation has been implemented, and the propagation model also is revised by least square method. Finally, the results of simulation are given in the conclusions.
