In recent years, optical-fiber access network technologies based on FTTX access havedeveloped rapidly. Subscribers have increasing demands on the access bandwidth as theemergence of high bandwidth services such as VOD, online games and IPTV. Represented byEthernet Passive Optical Network (EPON) and Gigabit Passive Optical Network (GPON),optical-fiber access network technologies have made breakthrough in terms of technicalstandards, device function and performance,interoperability,industry chains and cost.Mainstream telecom operators at home and abroad have already put EPON or GPONtechnology into use in order to carry out broadband access to gain higher speed, the so-called"optical-fiber advances, copper retreats". How to keep the sustainable development of FTTXaccess technology is a very important issue in the context of scale deployment ofEPON&GPON and"Triple Play".This dissertation mainly focuses on the use of FTTX PON access on the fixed voicenetwork Soft Switch of China Unicom to implement voice access network integration andperformance testing. Firstly, plans and measurements have been draw up to the original ChinaUnicom to develop local networks through the ATM voice access, the user mode switch toother networks linked into the fixed voice network solutions and implement measures toachieve local access resource sharing, unified allocation and planning of subscriber numbers,and meet the demands of voice access new services. Secondly, plans and measurements aredesigned to integrate and optimize the original local voice access networks of China Unicomand China Network Communications into a voice access networks. Finally, after theintegration and optimization of voice access networks, the wide area virtual network testingenvironment is set up between FTTX access users and traditional PSTN users. Testingprograms, content and standards are designed to test the internal and external call dial in thevirtual networks. It analyses reasons on the problems of Shanxi Unicom wide area CENTREXperformance and functional tests and puts forwards resolutions to the problems. Meanwhile,this dissertation proposes feasible solutions to the problems in the functional test such asphone shift without changing of numbers, dialed physical numbers after mixed numbersallocation and Caller ID. Resolutions and testing standards of Shanxi Unicom wide areaCENTREX business applications are formulated. The article has an outlook of applicationprospect based on the FTTX access technology in the end.
