Along with the time development, our aerospace industry has made a great progress. The demand for on-board computer with high performance is also growing rapidly. The purpose of this paper is to design a highly efficient and reliable on-board computer hardware which can support real-time operating system. This paper firstly introduces the on-board embedded computer minimum system hardware platform with PowerPC processor as its core, which also has SDRAM, Flash and FPGA. After describing the hardware platform, this paper focuses on the design and implementation of the BSP on the embedded operating system VxWorks. Its main works include the related hardware driver modification, TrueFFS support and configuration, operating system booting methods, system debugging channel configuration and so on. This paper also gives a system reliability design, including implementation of Parity/ECC on SDRAM and RS coding on Flash.CodeWarrior which is debugging software is used to debug and test both hardware and software of the system. Through the testing and validation, the system reaches the design requirement and work normally.
