The Design And Implementation Of Vxworks BSP Based On The AMC Daughter Card——EP8548

BSP(Board Support Package) is an important part of the embedded system. It provides the operation system and drivers for the hardware. It also provides the interface for the applications to use to call for the hardware. In an embedded system, because of the difference of the processors and equipment on the board varies from every single board, the BSP for each board is different. Therefore, it becomes an important step in developing the embedded system. Under this circumstance, paper designs and implements the BSP of the board EP8548.Paper includes the following works:Chapter I introduces the background, research and the structure of the paper.Chapter II introduces the structure and current situation of the embedded system. Then the usual operation system-VxWorks operation system is introduced here. The function and structure of the BSP is also analyzed in this paper.Chapter III analyzes the structure design of the BSP and the development process of the BSP. Paper implements the design of the minimum core and the development of the drives of different peripherals. Paper implements the work in initializing the CPU and the SDRAM in detail. It’s a very important part in the paper to build the minimum core.Chapter V implements the development of drivers of serial, Ethernet port, Flash device and interrupt controller, and the testing and debugging of them. The VxWorks operation system provides a lot of consoles for peripherals in order to make it easier to develop drivers. For example, serial ports are very common ports in the embedded system, so the VxWorks provides a TTY layer to manage the driver for the serial port. And based on the consoles, paper implements the specific functions and driver. Paper also implements the development of drivers of the Ethernet port, the Flash device and the interrupt controller in the same way, and then verifies the function of them.Paper designs and implements the BSP of the board EP8548successfully, it enables the board to power up and function normally, and it helps the developer of the upper program to call the hardware.
