SAR imaging has the characteristics of high data rate, huge data, complexarithmetic and difficulty of real-time processing. The traditional system of SARimaging real-time signal processing is mostly based on DSP. This thesis is committed tobuilding a new system of SAR imaging real-time signal processing which based onPowerPC with the support of VxWorks, and a practical SAR imaging algorithm will beused to verify the system’s correctness. By transplanting VxWorks to PowerPC, thesystem gets a high process performance, and it can isolate the hardware. So the systemcan help developers focus on design and simulation of SAR imaging algorithmeffectively, and need not dwell on the details of the underlying hardware, it can alsoimprove the efficiency of hardware realization of SAR imaging algorithm and reducethe risk of system design.This thesis will briefly expound the general principle of SAR imaging algorithm,and introduce the RD algorithm process combined with the motion compensation. Afterthe introduction of PowerPC’s architecture and the analysis of VxWorks’ kernel, wewill detailedly explain the process of how to transplant VxWorks to PowerPC. Then, wewill map the SAR imaging algorithm to the hardware. In order to verify the system’scorrectness, the result of the real-time process will be shown. Finally, this thesisdiscussed the farther work.
