In recent years, the single board computer system which is based on PowerPC is one of important research project of Embedded system. Single board computer system of High performance and low power is much abroad on war industry, avionic device, network device, so, it have important signification to research the single board computer system.The selected topic is from Sichuan Jiuzhou Electric Group Co.,Ltd's large-scale PowerPC single board computer system study. In order to remit the pressure from buying foreign developing equipments, saving cost, shortening developing period and improving production quality, the company is intending to research and develop PowerPC single board computer system, building their own developing platform and developing the board support packet which based on the VxWorks. The purpose is to establish an embedded computer system in powerful function, high modularization, high real time capability and high expansibility.The works of this paper are as follows:Firstly, this paper make a briefly summarize to Embedded system and Embedded operating system, At this point of view of high performance, low power waste and high reliable, According to the actual system requirements and the foundation of design method of embedded system of in-country and overseas, we design the structure of the single board computer which based on the MPC7447A, this paper also makes a analysis to some hardware circuit, especially to Ethernet interface.The system software adopts VxWorks embedded real time operating system. It's high performance, Reduction and high reliable will advance the performance of the single board computer system more. This paper makes a detailed research to VxWorks BSP's design, according to analyse file structure and make up of BSP, VxWorks' start-up process, this paper summarize the design process of hardware initiation, system's start-up code and driver program design. At last, According to hardware platform and hardware data of target board, we design the model structure, achieve the system's start-up code and serial driver and Ethernet driver program, we also make a detailed testing to the system, present the process and result of testing, verify the feasibility of the system and achieve the final purpose of the single board's research. The success of this RTOS has important significance for shortening item's developing period, saving cost and improving production's technology content.
