A Collaborative Document Management System To Deploy Web-based Interface And Implementation,

Modern highly developing technology working environment also brings firms and companies more and more pressure on document management. There are too many new emails, attachments and data, as well as other materials generated everyday. Especially for those people who contributed a lot on handling daily business documents, they are having big challenges with the huge amount of documents everyday. The management and storage of documents and data become much important. With the assistance of the mentor from Shanghai fire protection research institution, we did an analysis on the demand of document management system for them and provided them a feasible method of online document management system by using an open source document management developing tools. This thesis is mainly discussing bellowing contents:Users can easily doing collaboration documents work through Work Space function. Provided criteria for document category and built up a documents searching engine. This system is highly integrated with MS Office applications for document saving and opening. Established corporate BBS and create internal link for corporate email system. The whole system and saved documents can be easily backup and retrieved.After finishing the setup and configuration of the whole document management system, we did a test run together with the users from Shanghai Fire Protection Research Institution. The test result satisfied the users a lot since it can really fulfill their demand on document management and collaboration work. Further more, we have also discussed the plan to implement this system for all of the users.
