Combining information technology and modern office management, the officeautomation (OA) becomes a new application era of technological revolution at present. Thetraditional office mode manually completes the repetitive and complex tasks, so people haveto spend more time and energy to deal with. The manual processing will be unable tocomplete the task on time, operational error will occur possibly, and the worker's creativityand imagination are extremely limited. This is a serious problem that the modern managementmust solve. In the modern operation mode of office automation, manual operation is improvedthrough advanced software tools and modern management. Various information managementsystems and equipments can help staff to complete many office business activities flexiblyand efficiently, with high work quality assurance. At present, our country railroad grass-rootsunit stands paragraph the development of office automation in the initial stage, compared withforeign countries, in all aspects of the existence of significant difference. Although there aresome domestic and foreign office software with advanced technology,"the climate does notsuit one", the discrepancy of railroad onsite work concepts causes these software to work notwell. Therefore, it is urgent to design and implement a railway office automated system. In order to improve the efficiency and quality of office management, this paper developsan office automation system for railway basic divisions based on B/S architecture, usingcomputer technology and Internet technology, following object oriented method and rapidprototype process. This paper first conducts feasibility analysis and requirement analysis on railway stationoffice automation system. It adopts use case model to describe the system functions, and eachuse case is defined in detail. Based on SSH (Struts+Spring+Hibernate) framework, thearchitecture of office automation system is designed according to its requirements. Followingthe modular design principle, the system is divided into nine modules: document managementmodule, basic information management module, user identification module, schedule module, education management module, security management module, team management module,BBS module, and party work management module. Each module in this system is designed in detail, using UML based object oriented method, and main activity diagrams and critical classdiagrams are established. Then the conceptual model and logic model of database aredesigned, and ER diagram and tables are defined. On this basis, this paper implements the whole system using EXT framework, MyEclipseEnterprise Workbench, Tomcat, SVN Connector and MySQL database. And the system passesthe verification through performance testing and functional testing. Now, the system isdeployed and test-running in Harbin Railway Bureau Qiqihar Station. Test and trial operationresults show that, the developed railway station office automation system has good userinterface, strong practicability, convenient maintenance and good stability, and thus it hasachieved the anticipated target.Because of the application of railway station office automation system, railway basicstations has improved their integrated competition ability and work efficiency greatly. Theautomation system makes the staff leaving from the frequent recurring work, and puttingmore effort to more valuable things to create more value. The system also simplifies thecomplex and bloated organizational structure, and each department can cooperate with othersefficiently through information sharing. The responsibility of departments and employees areclearly defined. The managers can collect information from various aspects to analyzecomprehensively, which helps to make efficient strategic decisions for the organization.
