Accompanying with the progressing of technology, many of the higher technology product becoming one part of people's normal life, HDTV is one of the instance. At present, how to make high-definition signals compatible with existing display device and reduce the cost of the high definition signal reception has become the crsis problem of the promotion of high-definition television.We also saw that the costs for high-definition video editing and transmission in broadcasting system is expensive, which is mainly because that most of the core of HD equipments are produced by the foreign Corporation. Furthermore, the arising of IPTV forces the SD video transmitter manufacturing company to think about how to hold the hot spot of the promotion of HDTV to keep market share. In this situation, it becomes very nessesary to design a HD transmitter in low costs.In this paper, high-definition video interface and high-definition video transmission technology and implementation of a single high-definition video transmission system was discussed. This paper intended to design a high-definition PDH to greatly ease the price of the HD terminal. The various parts of the hardware system design and implementation details were discussed after simplely introducing of the HD interface. In the optical receiver module, using HDMI as the output interface in order to significantly reduce the cost of access to displayer was discussed,which focused on the using of FPGA for signal extraction,format conversion terminal of the HD-SDI to HDMI converter.Finally,through the functional simulation of the correctness of the functionality of each module was done to confirm the feasibility of the entire program.
