As one of the most imptant parts of marine engine room automation, alarming, monitoring and controlling system can implement real-time monitoring of equipments in the engine room, so as to guarantee the safty of navigation. All works in this dissertation are based on the background of alarming, monitoring and controlling system. With the reference of Kongsberg K-Chief 500 marine automation system, which is one of the most advanced alarming, monitoring and controlling systems, analysis and comparisons of different kinds of Filedbus and system redundant technologies are made in this dissertation. According to the characteristics of engine room, an overall plan as well as an implementing method of alarming, monitoring and controlling system, which is based on CAN fieldbus and Ethernet, is presented. Both hardware design and microcontroller programming of the smart transmitter based on HART protocol are completed. The smart transmitter is compatible with commonly used 4-20mA industrial standard, and it also can communicate with host computer by 2FSK digital signal. Via debugging software, transmitter's parameters online-configuration and output real-time monitoring can be implemented.C++ Builder 5 is used for the software programming, which is consist of database designing, system initializing, CAN fieldbus communicating, system alarming, monitoring and controlling, system managing and so on.In order to realize the data communications between each node in the LAN, Indy package is used for programming. And thorough discussions on the implementation of Master-Slave switching and data synchronization are carried out too.According to results of the system testing, it is demonstrated that the marine engine room alarming, monitoring and controlling system designed in this dissertation can satisfy the practical application requirements.
