With the developing of Fieldbus and Industrial Ethernet technology, network technology is increasingly widely used in Industrial Control.In elements, Ship Engine Automata Control and Industrial Control are the same, so at the beginning of this paper, Fieldbus and Ethernet technology, network technology involved in Industrial Control, are researched. Fieldbus technology and Fieldbus net are studied; the advantage and disadvantage of the various primary Industrial Fieldbus are analyzed. On account of its advantage, CAN bus is selected as Fieldbus of the control net in Ship Engine room. Besides, through the research of Ethernet technology, the advantage and disadvantage of Industrial Control where Ethernet technology is introduced are analyzed, and the technique to resolve the application of Ethernet technology in Industrial Control is proposed.Fieldbus technology is not able to compose ship management information network, Industrial Ethernet technology is not able to compose ship field equipment layer . In order to provide a complete ship monitoring system should be used fieldbus and industrial Ethernet networks mixed. In view of the difference between Fieldbus network and Ethernet network, the interlink age scheme between them is rather important. In this paper, embedded gateway is exploited as the interlink age scheme between Fieldbus net and Ethernet net, and its design of software and hardware is detailed studied.A complete monitoring system, the various operating parameters of the testing is also critical. According to a ship of the practical operation,the paper design the primary operation parameters in the examination of host engines and auxiliary engines, Based on the above research ,a Ship Engine - room monitoring and controlling system based on CAN bus is designed.The research in this paper is eager to redound to improve the capability of Ship Engine - room monitoring and controlling system, and provide a reference for general automation of Ship Engine - room monitoring and controlling.
