Practical Significance Of The Media Literacy Education Of Our Citizens, And System

With the development of media technology and the globalization process intensified in the past decade, the development of new media and its impact on social and culture, have far exceeded which the old media impact on the community in the past 50 to 100 years. In our living space there is full of media, the media powerfully impacts on people' s survival, and even shapes the core values.In the information age, to the people in the media space, the traditional literacy has been far behind the age. Understanding the media; selecting and contact the media; interpretation, screening and judging the media information; the full and effective use of mass media, has become the basic life skills to a modern society citizen .The media literacy education to citizens is no doubt he most effective way to train the media literacy.In the study, we give a definition to media literacy firstly, then recall the history and the development of media literacy education, and then introduce the successful media literacy education cases in the western states and analyze the practice of China' s experience and the current media literacy education research. Finally, we further explore the importance of media literacy education to the information age , and attempt to frame the citizen media literacy education system to insure our country's citizen media literacy education to be faster and more systematically carried out.
