Sts Perspective Of It Teaching Three-dimensional Model Building

This paper establishes the 3D (Three- dimensional) Model of IT teaching under the STS vision, which interprates IT teaching based on the STS from three aspects, Teaching objectives(the dimension of direction), Teaching content(the dimension of knowledge system) and Teaching process( the operating dimension).By analyzing the results of questionnaires on the IT teaching status based on the STS, the following issues have been found existing in the current IT teaching: the lack of exploration of the scientific principles of IT knowledge and cultural connotation, the existence of tendencies of purely technical operation on the level of IT skills learning and the lack of attempts in the education of emotion, attitudes and values, etc. The author proposes using STS educational concept as a guiding ideology in IT teaching can better achieve the goal of improving the students' IT qualities.The 3D (Three- dimensional) Model of IT teaching under the STS vision focuses on Teaching objectives(the dimension of direction), Teaching content(the dimension of knowledge system) and Teaching process(the operating dimension). The 3D Model of teaching objectives includes three levels: knowledge and skills, process and methods, emotional attitudes and values, the common development of perception, action and emotion stressed. The 3D Model of teaching content is constructed from information science, information technology and information society as well as their relations, highlighting the harmonious unity of the spirit of science, technological culture and humanistic spirit. The 3D Model of teaching process is built through teaching design, teaching approaches and assessment and emphasizes to carry out teaching and learning activities through teaching , learning and assessment.Lastly, the author summarizes the relationship between the three dimensions in the 3D (Three- dimensional) Model of IT teaching under the STS vision. Meanwhile, the author stresses the requirements on teachers, students and the teaching environment in performing IT Teaching the STS vision.
